Granite Noir returns!

The Granite City’s international crime writing festival returns 24th – 27th February with a fantastic range of both in-person and live streamed events taking place throughout the atmospheric Aberdeen.

The city will be welcoming an array of events from a fantastic stage performance of The Hound of the Baskervilles to a crime scene escape room, across some wonderful venues including His Majesty’s Theatre, Lemon Tree, the Music Hall, and more.

Granite Noir 2023

The Hound of the Baskervilles – His Majesty’s Theatre, 22nd – 26th February

A whodunnit for the whole family to enjoy, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s renowned tale takes centre stage at His Majesty’s Theatre. Featuring legendary detective Sherlock Holmes and partner Dr Watson, the pair must track down an alleged gigantic hound causing chaos.

This is a wonderful adaptation of an epic detective story that can’t be missed.

Bad People Podcast Recording – Lemon Tree, 25th February

Join criminal psychologist Dr Julia Shaw and stand-up comedian Sofie Hagen from the award-winning ‘Bad People’ podcast for a live recording at the Lemon Tree! Grab a seat and listen to some jaw-dropping stories and unfathomable deeds as the pair explore a criminal case.

Witch Hunt – Kirk of St Nicholas, 25th – 27th February

Get spooked by the unnerving history of witchcraft in Scotland, and the tales of those prosecuted throughout the years – you’ll even hear stories of the prisoners who awaited trial within the Mither Kirk in Aberdeen. Click here to for more information.
