Discover adventure at Tarland Trails

Discover Scotland’s newest and Aberdeenshire’s only mountain bike trail centre, Tarland Trails. These ‘world class’, already ‘legendary’’ bike trails are only 50 minutes away from Aberdeen.

It’s an experience like no other

The excitement builds right from the start as you wind your way up ‘snakes and ladders’ catching sight of the huge swooping corners on the downhill trail next to you. You’ll journey up through the woodlands onto heather-clad moorland with expansive views of Deeside.

Buzzards soar above you and the trees are alive with the sound of songbirds cheering you on throughout the climb. If it’s views you’re after, keep climbing to the highest trail on the hill and see if you can spot the local Munros.

Take your pick of the trails

You can ride both flowy or technical red and blue trails; hold on tight as the berms spin you into G-force before flowing across the open hillside. You’ll certainly be torn between admiring the view or admiring the trail. Ready to jump for joy? Practice your jumping skills on Crowd Surfing – the ultimate fun jump line or Fools Gold - a high-speed high adrenaline expert trail. But make sure you look before you leap!

As you head back down the hill, you’ll be grinning all the way, through Berm after berm of laugh out loud fun. Finish your day with Party Time, and you will not be disappointed.

Working up an appetite

After all that the fun and adventure, you’ll be ready for some cake! Just a short pedal away is Tarland Tearooms, with delicious cakes and bakes, or pop into the Aberdeen Arms Hotel for a hearty meal.

Tarland Trails is a perfect playground for a range of abilities. A place to improve skills, to shred with friends or a family ride, to put a grin on your face, to get away from it all. You will not be disappointed.

This is a project with community at its heart. It couldn’t have happened without the local legends pushing for it, as well as sponsors and support from DMBinS and North East Adventure Tourism.
